Last week saw the first decline week over week - to 455 - in the number of crimes reported in Atlanta.

That's down from 519 in the previous week and 496 the week before.

Most of the crimes were committed in:

No crimes were reported in 16 neighborhoods:

• Ben Hill Acres, Briar Glen
• Ben Hill Terrace

• Cascade Heights, East Ardley Road
• Center Hill, Harvel Homes Community
• Chosewood Park, Englewood Manor
• Dixie Hills, West Lake
• Garden Hills
• Kingswood, Mt. Paran/Northside
• Midwest Cascade, Regency Trace
• Thomasville Heights

Overall Atlanta stats

Larceny from vehicles continues to top the list of crime categories. There was a total of 171 instances reported in the city last week (down from 209 the week before). The close second category is non-vehicle larceny - with 125 reported during the week.

Larceny is followed by auto theft. 60 incidents involving theft or attempted theft of vehicle were recorded in Atlanta last week (down from 79).

Among violent crimes, there were 47 reports of aggravated assault, 36 - of burglary, 14 robberies, and 2 homicides.
