A significantly higher number of crimes - 473 - were reported this past week by the Atlanta Police Department compared to the week before (399).

It represents an increase of over 18% week over week.

Most of the crimes were committed in:

Safest Atlanta neighborhoods

Larceny from vehicles tops the list of crime categories. There was a total of 188 instances reported in the city last week (a 20% increase from the week before). Non-vehicle larceny is in the third spot - with 89 reported for the week, with auto theft up to 2nd this week with 114 (a 50% increase week over week).

Among violent crimes, there were 38 reports of aggravated assault, 31 - of burglary, 9 robberies, and 4 homicides (up from 2).
